January, 2025 The Royal Albert Hall in London is an iconic venue, hosting diverse performances every night of the week. Famous for its striking looks, the 153-year-old building had challenging acoustics when amplifying modern music for the almost 6,000 capacity auditorium. This led to huge investment into the Hall’s audio equipment, with all sound requirements being brought in-house in 2018. DiGiCo consoles are at the centre of the building’s audio set up, a Quantum 852, Quantum 7, SD10, SD9 and SD11 are all owned by the venue. This ensures continuity for quality of sound, whatever the performance, and enables the audio department to prepare shows in advance, improving workflow during quick daily turnarounds.

December 2024 – UK-based sound designer and sound recordist Chris Jojo has specialised in authentic car recordings for film, simulators and gaming. For the filming of Ferrari, which has been nominated for several sound design awards, he used, among other microphones, Sennheiser’s MD 421-II large-diaphragm microphone and AMBEO VR Mic, as well as the company’s evolution wireless plug-on transmitters and EK 6042 receivers to record the impressive sound of vintage Ferraris with impact and clarity. Jojo speaks about his way into vehicle recording and how he captured those engine sounds that make every fan’s heart beat faster.
Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theatre, formerly known as the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, was established in 1953. The building is located in Yuexiu district, Guangzhou city and has a total floor area of about 40,000 square metres, including a 1,200-seat Grand Theatre, a 500-seat theatre and three 60-seat cinemas. DiGiCo is proud to have played a part in the co-creation of two new theatres for the space, Hung Sin-nui Theatre and Red Bean Hall. An SD5 is installed in the Hung Sin-nui Theatre and a Quantum 338 in the smaller Red Bean Hall.
December, 2024. Garbage is an iconic Scottish-American rock band that has stood the test of time. Their latest European Tour was the band’s first headline tour for five years. The huge dynamic shifts in their music were matched by intense stage lighting and graphics displayed on large-scale, high-resolution LED screens, delivered by independent video technology company, 80six. 80six deployed a combination of ROE Visual LED screens powered by Brompton LED processing to ensure a perfect display of the band’s visuals.
Locinox, an international, family-owned company, is a leader in the gate and fence industry, producing a wide range of gate hardware, gate closers, and access control solutions. Their innovative mindset and ambitious management approach have resulted in multiple awards, including the Gold label in the 2024 Best Managed Company Awards. When planning its brand-new facility, LOCINOX 4.0 in Belgium, a key consideration was for the entrance hall to have a wow factor. Alongside integrators Play AV, the Locinox team chose Leyard Europe’s high impact MGP Series to create a huge 20 square metre LED video wall, visible from the moment anyone enters the building.

November, 2024 Club CITTA is a much-loved venue in Kawasaki, Japan. Opened in 1988, the club has seen historic performances from Nirvana, Oasis, Radiohead and many more, it is a popular stop for many Japanese and international touring bands. November, 2024 – The Metaverse Production project, a collaborative initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving process efficiency in video production through advanced technology, has launched Studio PX ANZEN, a state-of-the-art LED facility located at FACTORY ANZEN STUDIO RED in Tokyo, established by Dentsu Creative Cube Inc. November, 2024 The Taihu Jazz Festival is held every year in the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing. During five days in May, musicians from China and beyond performed to excited crowds in the purpose-built outdoor performance spaces. Beverly has compiled around 100 sound libraries that offer a stunning choice of sounds from the natural world. Beverly’s sound libraries are used by OSCAR, Emmy, and Golden Globe winners for major film, television, and video game projects. As Tim Farrell, Emmy winning Sound Designer and Sound Effects Editor (Star Trek: Picard, Antman: Quantumania, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Walking Dead, Crash) put it: “Thomas’ unique and well recorded sounds have helped me create the sonic universe of Star Trek.” Beverly’s latest expedition this February lasted three weeks and took him to the multifarious landscapes of Patagonia.
