Live Is Life invests in DiGiCo SD Ten Broadcast for new mobile facility
After nine successful years, LIVE2 - Belgian audio company Live is Life’s mobile audio mixing and recording facility - is being joined by a second vehicle. Apex Audio Benelux is again supplying the audio equipment, with the new facility meaning the company can satisfy client demands at any production or event, whatever its size.
Apex supplied the DiGiCo DS00 console for the original LIVE2, its 160 inputs making it ideal for Belgium’s biggest television shows and live events. Currently it is in use on The Voice Van Vlaanderen (The Voice Of Flanders), the Belgian iteration of the television singing contest which is franchised in 46 countries worldwide.
LIVE2’s success was followed by a smaller vehicle, LIVE3, designed to accommodate either a video or audio setup, depending on the project. Apex supplied a DiGiCo SD Ten Broadcast for this facility, but it proved so successful that it has now been permanently accommodated in a new, bigger OB vehicle, LIVE4.
“Two of the higher profile projects where we used the SD Ten Broadcast in LIVE3 last year were at the Rock Werchter Festival (one of the five biggest European annual music festivals) and as a portable mixing setup set for Debby & Nancy's Warm Winter Show, a weekly entertainment programme on VTM, the largest commercial television station in Belgium,” says Live Is Life’s Gert Coremans. “The console proved that it was great for a diverse array of projects, so it made sense to include it in our biggest mobile facility.”
Apex has also supplied a range of outboard equipment for LIVE4, offering tremendous flexibility for every eventuality. “The SD Ten Broadcast can work seamlessly with the outboard, but it can also handle plug-ins, meaning that it can meet all the needs of our clients,” he adds. “Apex has also supplied a third DiGiRack, to complement the two we already have for LIVE2. It is easy to swap input racks between the two vehicles, depending on client needs.”
With the new vehicle scheduled to make its debut in May, Live Is Life can now offer a choice of the highest quality mobile audio facilities. “The new truck is already booked for many events in the summer,” Gert concludes. “In fact, both will be at the Rock Werchter festival this year, at the Barn and the Marquee stages respectively.”
